The reception will be held immediately following the ceremony at the Whalehead Club, just down the street from the Corolla Chapel.
The address for the Whalehead Club is:
1100 Club Road, Rt. 12
North, Corolla, NC 27927
The Whalehead Club, built in the mid 1920's, or "Corolla Island" as it was originally named, remains one the most spectacular landmarks on the Currituck Outer Banks. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is located in the shadow of the (circa 1875) Currituck Beach Lighthouse.
The site sits directly on the sound and the views are spectacular for an outdoor wedding!
*Please be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket. Although we are hoping for perfect weather, it can get cool on the sound at night. Bugs are not generally a problem because of the breeze off the water, but we will have bug spray available just in case!
DIRECTIONS:
From the Chapel, it's simple. . .
- Go right out of the parking lot.
- It's about ½ mile down the road past the lighthouse.
- Park anywhere on the lighthouse side of the park.
NOTE: This is walkable, but if you're not in sturdy shoes, it won't be fun. We suggest you take the Beach Bus that we'll have available for you.
