Here is some information on where to stay for the wedding. As rental homes and hotels fill up fast, we recommend you book early. Please let us know if we can answer any questions about accomodations or help you arrange your stay.
Rental Homes
As many of the hotels in the Outer Banks area can be expensive, you may want to rent a beach home instead. In fact, this is what we would recommend for accommodations. We've been staying on the Outer Banks for years (many of you have either partaken in the stories or listened to them), and we think this is the best way to enjoy the area.
There are many homes in the area that rent Sunday-Sunday. So, if you have the time, you might consider coming down a few days early, and enjoying the beach! Even if you do not plan to stay for more than a couple of days, renting a house with a group of 3 or more might be more comfortable than a hotel, and it can also be more affordable. There are a number of rental agencies in the area that can help you find a suitable home. We have rented from all of these and have been very happy with their services. Please note: the least expensive homes book fast, so we urge you to set up your accommodations as soon as possible!
Hotels
Unfortunately, there are only a few hotels in the immediate Corolla area where we will be married. These hotels usually require a 2-night minimum stay, but are all within close proximity to the church and Whalehead Club. There are also several hotels located about 17 miles away in Kitty Hawk. This may sound like a long drive, but it is a very beautiful drive along the sound and you can look at all the interesting beach houses along the way! The hotels that are in Corolla tend to be pricey, but the ones in Kitty Hawk should more affordable and do not have a minimum stay requirement. We have arranged for room blocks at a couple of recommended hotels, but if you have any questions about others, please e-mail us and we can get you more information.
